Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 19, 2026

9-Ball Scores is a free scorekeeping app for 9-ball pool. You can use it without an account. This page explains what the app stores, where it goes, and the third-party services the site uses.

Data stored on your device

The app saves its data in your browser's local storage on the device you are using. Nothing here leaves your device unless you turn on one of the sync options below. Local storage holds:

You can remove match history at any time with Clear History on the History tab, or remove everything by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

Optional: Google sign-in

If you choose Sign in with Google, sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication. Google shares your name, email address, profile photo and an account ID with the app. Your name and photo are shown on the History tab so you can see which account is signed in.

While you are signed in, your saved players and match history are stored in Google Cloud Firestore under your account, so you can see the same history on other devices. This is the same sign-in system used by our companion team-captain app. Signing out stops syncing; the copy on your device stays. Google's handling of this data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.

Optional: shared sync codes

A sync code (for example ABCD-1234) lets several devices, such as a phone kept at the bar, share one scorebook without anyone logging in. When you create or link a code, your saved players and match history are stored on our host, Cloudflare, under that code.

The code is the only key. Anyone who has the code can view and change that scorebook, so share it only with people you trust. Unlinking a device stops it syncing; it does not delete the shared copy.

Feedback form

The Feedback link opens a short form that is delivered to us through Formspree. We receive your answers, any name or email you choose to include, the time, the site address you sent it from and your browser type (so we can reproduce bugs). We use this only to read and answer your feedback.

Analytics

We use two cookieless analytics tools to count visits and see how the app is used. Neither is used for advertising, and this data is not sold.

Cloudflare Web Analytics, provided by our host, measures page views and page load performance without cookies or other on-device tracking. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

We also use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool that we host ourselves, to count visits. Umami does not use cookies and does not store your IP address. It records the page visited, the referring site, browser, operating system, device type and country, so we can see what to improve.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

The site shows ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

Ads may be personalized to your interests or, where required or where you opt out, non-personalized (based on context such as the page and your general location). You can:

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard request information (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and protect the site.

9-Ball Scores is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
